Dr. Murray serves as Deputy Evaluation Officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs. She oversees evaluation and evidence-building activities by providing data and policy direction, expertise, guidance, and assessment of statistical methods to enhance the decision-making process. Dr. Murray brings over 20 years of experience in policy development, strategic planning, higher education, and workforce development. She has served as an expert on several higher education issues, metrics, and accountability. In her previous role, she led a national portfolio of investments designed to strengthen systems and partners across the U.S. for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
