SINGAPORE – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met with Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong to hold a Ministerial-level meeting of the U.S.-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation (PGI). Secretary Raimondo congratulated the Deputy Prime Minister on his recent appointment to his new role. The two discussed progress made over the last two and a half years through the U.S.-Singapore PGI, as well as current and future areas of focus for the initiative, such as clean energy, the digital economy, and supply chains. Secretary Raimondo thanked Deputy Prime Minister Gan and the Government of Singapore for hosting the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Clean Economy Investor Forum and Ministerial meeting, from June 5 to 6. The two agreed that the results from the two IPEF meetings are a clear demonstration of the economic benefits that IPEF has already and will continue to deliver for all IPEF partners. The two also issued a joint statement on the U.S.-Singapore PGI.
