Cairo Jennings is a Senior Counsel with the Office of Chief Counsel for International Commerce (OCCIC) where he provides expert counsel on matters relating to intellectual property, standards, good regulatory practices, competition, and advisory committees. Cairo also represents the Department of Commerce as part of international trade negotiations. Before joining OCCIC, Cairo worked as a materials science researcher, a chemical engineer in microprocessor manufacturing, an intellectual property attorney in private practice, and a U.S. diplomat. In his private practice, he assisted clients with the protection and enforcement of their global portfolios of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. As a foreign service officer, Cairo served in North Africa and South America.
