
Abby Warren serves as the Deputy General Counsel for AI and Technology at the Department of Commerce. She oversees legal and policy issues related to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, supporting the Department’s mission to foster innovation and economic growth.
Abby most recently served as the Chief Counsel for Oversight and Investigations for the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. Prior to that position, she was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis, where her practice focused on complex commercial litigation.
She also served in the Senate as a member of the special counsel teams for the nominations of Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Abby earned her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and undergraduate degree from Tufts University. She clerked for Judge Elizabeth L. Branch on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
