Ellen Aldin

Ellen Aldin is an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the Chief Counsel for International Commerce (OCC-IC).  Her practice focuses on Customs and Trade Facilitation, Tariffs and Preference Programs, the Case-Zablocki Act, and legal issues impacting the International Trade Administration’s Advocacy Center, health products, and textile goods. She also covers legal issues impacting Europe.

Prior to joining OCC-IC, Ellen was in private practice, where she advised clients on customs law, economic sanctions, and trade remedies. She also advised clients on public policy issues, and worked in government relations prior to going to law school.

Ellen graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was the Managing Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law. During law school, Ellen participated in the University of Michigan Law School’s Geneva Fellowship program, where she worked as a legal extern at the Geneva headquarters of GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance. She also interned in the General Counsel’s Office at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Ellen holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Dickinson College in French and International Studies, where she worked as a peer writing tutor in both French and English. She also attended Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Toulouse in Toulouse, France during her undergraduate studies.

Ellen is a member of the D.C. Bar.
