This Sunday, our nation will mark 21 years since the tragic attacks of September 11. In honor of the lives lost and impacted that day, I would like to invite the Department of Commerce community to join me in observing the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Wherever you are this weekend, I encourage you to volunteer with local organizations that are working to build a more equitable and just America. This will be a unique opportunity to meet others in service, strengthen our communities, and reaffirm the ties that unite us as a nation. Our federal colleagues at AmeriCorps have compiled a list of opportunities across the country at Americorps.gov/911Day. T
