The Office of Space and Building Management (OSBM) provides oversight of building and facility services provided to HCHB tenants and visitors through the Mail Services and Multimedia Divisions, Space Management Division, the Facilities Services Division and the Building Management Division.  OSBM also oversees the HCHB Safety functions, facility operations of the Child Care Center and Commerce Fitness Center in the HCHB.

Space Management Division

The Space Management Division, SMD, is responsible for tracking the assignment of space throughout the HCHB. Other responsibilities include project management of tenant fit-out work, repairs, and maintenance.   Services consist of developing code-compliant designs and managing project implementation and procurement of reimbursable contractual services to include construction, furniture and furnishings. 

Facility Services Division

The Facility Services Division (FSD) is responsible for providing custodial, landscaping, pest control, recycling, and food services to HCHB. Other responsibilities include the management of the Parking and Transit Benefits programs as well as the providing coordination and audiovisual support to HCHB occupants and distinguished visitors for special events held in the HCHB lobby and auditorium.  A special area of focus for FSD is supporting HCHB’s pandemic response, including posting signage, providing personal protective equipment, and overseeing disinfecting and additional hygiene requirements. 

Multi-Media Division

The Multi-media Division, which is a section of MMD, is responsible for requirements for graphics and publications.  This division also provides in-house production work for customers in the following areas: electronic formatting for documents and publications, electronic forms, web design,  on demand publishing, high speed copying, framing and in-house art design. 

Mail Services Division

The Mail Services Division, which is a section of MMD is responsible for providing mail services, policies and procedures to the operating units within the HCHB.  This division conducts screenings of incoming mail for security purposes, delivery of incoming USPS, FedEx, UPS and other expedited services, interoffice and messenger mail from the operating units located outside the HCHB.  In addition, Mail Services collects and processes of outgoing mail and special mail (registered mail, certified mail, and express mail).

Building Management Division

The Building Management Division provides services for operating and maintaining the HCHB.  This division covers the maintenance of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, windows, fire alarm and suppression, and elevators.  HCHB has electricians, plumbers and HVAC mechanics on-site.  In addition, routine, emergency, and recurring repairs are handled by this division.
